Paul, Dave and I underwent one of the hardest experiences of our lifetimes. Yesterday we set off at 6am in Katoomba on a journey that will imprint our memories forever. This was trully a spectacular event that tested every part of our mind, soul and body. The most intense inclines that went on for miles, it was hot, it was cold, it rained, it hailed, we got leeches and stings but we stuck at it with one goal in mind "finishing". We walked across the Cox's river suspended bridge which was so high and scared the life out of us all. We trully pushed our boundaries in every direction and in the end we made it, 45 kilometres from Katoomba to Jenolan Caves. An unbelievable experience that none of us will ever forget. It's a great team that rally together all the time no matter how hard it gets. Go the GU group (they know what this means!!)
This weekend was a shorter walk for our training. We deserved it after all the hard training we have been doing. Paul, Dave and I met at 5am on the Pacific Highway at Chatswood. With our lights strapped to our heads we set off through Chatswood in search of the Lane Cove National Park. We walked an 18 Km section of the Great Northern Walk. It really was beautiful.. It's hard to believe you are walking in the wilderness when only minutes away is downtown Chatswood, North Ryde etc. Another tough walk, but one i would recommend for families who want to try a day out bushwalking.
We all know Australia is such a beautiful and unique place to live. Nothing beats it. Please get behind or team by sponsoring us all in May for our Wildendurance Challenge through the Blue Mountains. We are already training very hard for the 100KM trail event. Your sponsorship will definitely make a difference to the future of this great land that we know as "Australia".
Thanks for being such great supporters and friends.
Cheers Michele, David, Paul and Chris and the Koala's!!
